I borrowed this information to share so that someone who is hurting but can't say they need help can be recognized and get the attention they may need, if you no somebody please reach out to them.
It is no accident the Merle Haggard song "If We Make it Through December" was a big hit. Every year a number of people get the 'blues' around the holidays. There are many reasons people may go through holiday 'blues.' Beyond normal stress, low energy, money concerns, and demands of the season, Veterans often have added pressures. Parties and large family gatherings can cause stress for those with PTSD. Many Veterans are diabetic, and events centered on food can add to feelings of loss. Hospitalization or illness can lead to feelings of isolation.
Simple things you can do to help manage holiday blues:
Be realistic about what you can and cannot do.
Do not be afraid to ask for help. Let others share in planning for events.
Make a list. Organize your time. Save time for yourself!
Get enough rest. It is difficult to cope when you are tired.
Look toward the future. Do not dwell on the past. Each holiday season is unique and should be enjoyed.
Enjoy free holiday activities. Look at holiday lights, go window-shopping, or take in a community or church program.
Spend time with people you care about. Reach out and make new friends. Contact someone you have not heard from in a while.
Acknowledge your feelings. Recognize and accept that both good and bad feelings may occur during the holidays. This is normal.
Set limits. It is easy to overindulge around the holidays. Maintain a balanced diet. Do not drink too much alcohol. Drinking alcohol may increase your feelings of depression.
Consider volunteering. Remember the spirit of giving for the holidays. You can help at a non-profit organization. You can visit a shut-in. Your VA Voluntary Service has many opportunities to touch the lives of Veterans.
Anytime you are feeling depressed, call someone. Talk to a friend, family member, clergy member, or health care provider. At every VA hospital, there is a chaplain available to talk. Remember, it¿s normal for people to have a different feeling during the holidays. And, while being sad or tired or having trouble falling or staying asleep may be common this time of year, be mindful these symptoms don¿t extend too far past the holidays or grow into something bigger. If the blues become overwhelming, please call your health care team for support. You can find your local VA health care resource here:

Dream the impossible Dream, anything is possible.
Impossible is Just a Word
Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?
Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.
This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.
But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher.
The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do this. It's too hard. It's too impossible. No one can do this.
However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.
Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.
On the other hand, some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations.
If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging on to the impossible dream.
Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’
Now look at all the headers strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’
As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’
As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.
You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.
Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.
On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would laugh at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.
Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.
Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be.
So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.
Meditation 101
Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are consciously relaxed and focused. Practitioners of this art report increased awareness, focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life.
Meditation is most commonly associated with monks, mystics and other spiritual disciplines. However, you don’t have to be a monk or mystic to enjoy its benefits. And you don’t even have to be in a special place to practice it. You could even try it in your own living room!
Although there are many different approaches to meditation, the fundamental principles remain the same. The most important among these principles is that of removing obstructive, negative, and wandering thoughts and fantasies, and calming the mind with a deep sense of focus. This clears the mind of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity.
The negative thoughts you have – those of noisy neighbors, bossy officemates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted spam– are said to contribute to the ‘polluting’ of the mind, and shutting them out is allows for the ‘cleansing’ of the mind so that it may focus on deeper, more meaningful thoughts.
Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input – no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch – and try to detach themselves from the commotion around them. You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this is your goal. It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything around you.
If you find the meditating positions you see on television threatening – those with impossibly arched backs, and painful-looking contortions – you need not worry. The principle here is to be in a comfortable position conducive to concentration. This may be while sitting cross-legged, standing, lying down, and even walking.
If the position allows you to relax and focus, then that would be a good starting point. While sitting or standing, the back should be straight, but not tense or tight. In other positions, the only no-no is slouching and falling asleep.
Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense.
The place you perform meditation should have a soothing atmosphere. It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable in. You might want an exercise mat if you plan to take on the more challenging positions (if you feel more focused doing so, and if the contortionist in you is screaming for release). You may want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.
Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet, isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so stocking up on aromatic candles isn’t such a bad idea either.
The monks you see on television making those monotonous sounds are actually performing their mantra. This, in simple terms, is a short creed, a simple sound which, for these practitioners, holds a mystic value.
You do not need to perform such; however, it would pay to note that focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, and humming help the practitioner enter a higher state of consciousness.
The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight.
One sample routine would be to – while in a meditative state – silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders.
In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort (or non-effort – remember we’re relaxing).
Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science itself!

Stupid
You wonder why peoples are getting shot up for nothing? Maybe the reason is we treat each other with so much disrespect, envy, and jealousy that the only thing that can grow from that contaminated soil is hatred and destruction. What the word day you reap what you sow well it look like harvest time is right around the corner. I am not only passed with white America I am so hot with my own people feeding on each. They don't have to do anything she doing it to ourselves. Stop acting like Crabs in a hot pot people, pull somebody up not back down. Damon. I know your mother taught you better than that.

Self improvement advice free of charge
If only self improvement advice were free and scattered around everywhere, then there will be no problem regarding life, happiness and success. But then again, this is life. And it does not work that way.
What would you do if you are trapped in an environment that you do not want to be in? What if you are sick and tired of your job?
What can we do to solve this dilemma?
It is possible to take inspired and motivated action to survive your present situation and live the life you always dreamed of.
It is not that easy though. You will have to come out of your comfort zones to discover potentials and opportunities waiting for you. You have to conquer your fear and take calculated risks. You have to stay focused and persevere despite the difficulties you will encounter.
Success does not come easy. It takes heart, passion and time. Experience is also a factor. The learning you get everybody becomes your foundation. These are the things we do not need to pay for.
You have to work harder, dig deeper, and sacrifice more to attain your ambitions. But no, you do not have to hate the world and feel bad when you encounter difficult situation. Just remember the Law of Attraction. If you hate the world, the world will hate you back.
What can you do? Below are some free advices to help you when facing difficult situations in life. They will also serve as your guide to improve yourself.
1. Learn to love your current situation. See all the positive sides of life. Be enthusiastic. Love your boss, your coworkers, your family, your friends, and even strangers that you meet on the streets.
It may not be easy, but nothing is impossible with a strong will power. Just do not fall in love so much that you totally forget about your dreams. Love, but try to hold on to reality.
2. Balance is the key. Dream and take some positive action to move you toward your goals. Take it one step at a time.
While you are slowly starting on the long journey to success, be patient and be as enthusiastic as possible. Do not hurry up too much that you totally forget how to enjoy life. Appreciate the beautiful things you will encounter on the journey.
One day, you will finally attain what you have always longed for. But when that day comes, do not look down on those who belittled you. Forgive and forget.
3. Stay humble. Do not criticize others when you see that you are becoming more successful than they are. Try to help them. Inject your positive aura into their personalities. When you give, you will yield back equal or greater rewards.
4. Are you ready to begin the journey? Start it with the courage and desire to improve your life. Survive and go through it with persistence, enthusiasm, and positive thinking. Finish it with a resounding bang of accomplishment and with the desire to help others succeed as well.
There are many other self improvement advice that will get as you get on with your daily life. Take note that you are not alone. There are others in much more difficult situations. That is why is there will be a shortage of free advice about self improvement you can get from other people who are only too happy to help.

He Who Has Ears Let Him Hear.
Nobody really understands
It is twenty seventeen and we in the
United States have elected our forty fifth president, a New York
business man named Donald J. Trump. Mr. Trump did not win the
popular vote but he did win the electoral vote which is not uncommon
but what is uncommon is his stance on political matters. You see he
may have the best intentions in the sense of being patriotic to the
united state and I hope with everything in me he is, but he take's a
hard line stance on issues, issues of which he has very little
political training in. most believe that with the right people in
your staff the lack of political knowledge can be offset but only
time will tell.
But one thing is certain, sometimes it
is not wise to always go around waiving a big stick, after all isn't
that what politics is all about diplomacy before aggression. At the
rate we are moving now there is sure to be some catastrophic event
that will shake the planet, or destroy it. On my home I heard that
“dooms day clock” that scientist have used in the “cold war”
day has take a thirty second movement forward and it's not not just
the nuclear situation, climate change, technology and biotechnology
advances and worry about their use's, all these thing could get out
of control at anytime without the right control's.
So as I listened to the radio while the
three commentator's eluded to the question of, when the time comes,
do you want to live forever or when it's over it's over and wow! Did
that open the door for a different train of thought. First, the young
lady said, “my grandmother is ninety six and all she doe's is sit
in her chair, eat ice cream, all her friends are gone and she is all
alone”.yeah when it's time to go I just want to go. Then one guys
say, Well I think that there is life after death so yeah I chose
infinity, I want to live forever for my kids sake but the girl tells
him well then you will see them grow old and die and how would that
make you feel? He couldn't answer her. The third guy was trying to
make some sensible answer but all he came up with was that he wasn't
sure about life after death but if there was what would it be like?
We used to say, nobody has ever come back to tell us what over there.
But in these days and times of documentation of near death
experiences, science, investigations maybe, just maybe there is.
I think they were missing the point
just looking at it from a two dimension stand point, life, then death
but there are many beliefs that say when we expire in this corporeal
sense our soul's and spirit live on. Personally I think that it is
not if we will continue to exist but where we will exist. In a place
that may not be pleasant or some place that can be compared to
paradise, who knows? But down deep inside I think most people feel
this. After all religion must serve some other purpose than just
tradition, more than another form of control for men over other men.
Think of a blind person. They don't have the use of a major sense
that is needed to function but yet thru study and training they learn
to use their remaing senses to compensate for their loss. Just
because you can't see it doe's not mean it doesn't exist.
I think life is a test to see where we
will end up in eternity and also to cause us to grow and reveal our
true natures to our self. There is to much balance and cemetery in
creation for all this to an accident, it just don't make sense,
somebody's got to be at the wheel, there has to be some entity at the
center. But I know many will argue the opposite and that's OK because
in the end “all that a man achieves and all that he fails to
achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts”, As a man
thinketh James Allen. Also I found this passage in the King James
bible that says in “Proverbs 15;24 The way of life winds upward for
the wise, that he may turn away from hell below.
In closing let me leave you with this
thought from James Allen, “men are anxious to improve their
circumstances but unwilling to improve themselves”.

About Politics
These are thing's we all should know;
What is Politics?
Politics is mainly the
method and process of taking decisions for the group. The word
politics integrates all the domestic and international policies.
These are mainly the activities of government on state level or
national level political affairs. Since these are mainly the
activities of government this does not mean that only government is
responsible for carrying out all politics or government alone is
involved in all political matters or politics is always carried out
in national or state level affairs.
As defined in very first
line politics is mainly the method and process of taking decisions
for the groups. So politics can be from any group any group like
politics can be from opposition party of the ruling party. Whenever
the issue of protection of rights of group of members rises there the
politics enters into scene. Politics can affect our system both ways
that is negatively as well as positively. It can affect negatively
because many times people leave their jobs due to politics at their
workplace which they feel that is just the wastage of time and they
should just avoid that it is because they don’t want to waste their
time in any other activity except their work. This led to increase of
pending of jobs and thus adversely affects the organization.
Sometimes people may also leave their jobs which would result in lose
of human resource of the company. Sometimes it happens that people
form groups at their workplace and do not want others to join their
group and also promote members of their own group against the other
members and sometimes they may also try to let down the other members
which are not from their groups and which may also cause rivalries
between groups in the company and thus the workplace becomes the war
place. These type of group rivalries are mostly seen in those offices
where lot of people work. These types of group rivalries are the main
reason for collapse of work in the organization because of non
cooperation from all the workers of company. Mainly those workers
cause problems who are engaged in group politics. But sometimes this
politics can also be useful to groups as well as company. Let’s see
how:
Politics can also remove
the root cause of misunderstandings between the workers and the top
management in the organization. Politics can help to prevent the
rights and interests of workers in the company.
Conservative vs. Liberal
Many people do not really
understand the difference between a conservative and a liberal. How
do you really know which side of the spectrum you fall on? In this
article, we are going to explain some of the differences, so that as
political figures are discussing conservative and liberal ideals you
know exactly what is going on.
The first side of the
issue is the conservative side. The conservatives tends to want to
preserve things they way they are, for example they dislike change,
and do not want things to change in the way the country is run, how
people come into power, and how civil rights are handed out.
Conservatives appreciate in real terms the importance of building and
maintaining the economy to the benefit of society as a whole. Many
conservatives are also considered to appreciate having an exclusive
inner circle that controls the entire country, although in mainstream
politics this is rarely a salient feature.
Many conservatives also
live by the ideals that institutions that have been successful rather
than dwelling on mistakes. This has the effect of working towards
improvement in efficiency, which is another key factor of
Conservative thought. Many conservatives do not think technology is
our friend; they feel that technology should not be a part of
government standards and ideas based on the inefficiency it brings.
Many conservatives are also very cautious people, which is reflected
in the opinions and decisions of their politics.
Liberals on the other
hand are very much different. Most liberals are very open to change,
almost to a fault; they do not mind the ideas of change as long as it
is for a perceived good cause, even where there is no practical
utilitarian upshot. Liberals tend to be willing to take more risks
than most conservatives are in the whimsical pursuit of change. Most
liberals are also very tolerant of behavior different from their own,
as well as they are willing to open their minds to new ideas and
concepts easier than the conservative counterparts. Liberals also
like to push for change without necessarily having a justification
for their actions.
Liberals tend to be very
progressively thinking people, whom are quite open to the new ideas
of technology in terms of normal daily life, as well as in the role
of assisting the government in managing the country to the best of
our ability. However, their emphasis on extreme individual freedom
means a more distant form of governance that leaves society to
regulate itself without much intervention. This has led to numerous
political and social problems for liberal governments across the
world.
While there are some
major differences in the two sides, there are also many people who
fall somewhere in the middle. Many people are able to pull their
comfort zone from taking pieces of each side. While some people are
hesitant of change, they are able to accept change in order to make
things better for everyone. For example, women's rights were the
result of change. Many conservatives were against the ideals of
women being allowed to vote. On the flip side, some liberals are in
favor of the legalization of drugs, and are wholeheartedly against
government regulation in the way we live our lives.
While there are many
differences in the ideals of the two groups, there is also a bond
that forges from each side being determined to make life the best
possible for the people in the areas with which they are concerned.
Neither side sets out to hurt the other side, nor the people they are
responsible for helping. There are times when the goals of both
sides do come together nicely and result in wonderful progress for
our cities, nation, and country as a whole. Looking to the future,
we can expect both sides to continue to change and progress as things
change and the future becomes reality.

When Everything Change
American history, or really history in
general is not always marked with outstanding events, stunning
personalities or remarkable speeches. Much of the history of a great
nation is slow steady improvement, set backs and then how a people
recovers from those set backs. But in the context of American
history, there are a number of truly phenomenal moments when
everything changed. These are not just one day events, although some
are that sudden. But these are events that once they transpired,
Americans thought of themselves, the world and their place in the
world completely differently. And it’s worth noting what those
events were and how they changed Americans forever.
Obviously the revolution itself and the
founding of the country changed a small group of colonies who thought
of themselves as Englishmen far from home. When the independence of
America was done, that vision of ourselves was completely different.
We were now a proud new nation, a new type of nationality that had
its own view of the world and its own hopes and dreams as well.
World War II was the kind of event that
once we underwent the tremendous trial, struggle and victory that
such a war demands of a people, we never could go back to seeing
ourselves again in the same way as we thought before the war. Our
victory against Japan, Germany and their allies gave us tremendous
confidence that we could affect world history for the better. But it
also gave us a tremendous sense of responsibility. When we dropped
those bombs on Japan, everybody on the planet began to understand the
horrible power that was now in the hands of mankind, for a season in
the hands of America and the huge responsibility for the fate of
mankind that came with that kind of power.
Pearl Harbor while part of World War II
deserves its own mention because of the fundamental change to how
America viewed itself in relation to the world. Prior to that
attack, America considered itself invulnerable. Like a teenager that
thought they could never be hurt, we had never been attacked on our
homeland before. But Japan proved that they not only could attack us
but that they could hurt us very badly. Yes, we responded with a
fury but from that moment forward, we knew that we, like everybody
else in the world, were vulnerable and we had to start behaving
differently in a world full of both friends and enemies.
Outside of the military world, the
famous I Have a Dream Speech by Dr. Martin Luther King at the March
on Washington on August 28, 1963 did not just change the black
community forever. Yes, that speech had a mighty impact on the way
the African American community saw their future and it gave
inspiration and hope to a struggling civil rights movement that
spurred it on to victory. But it also affected all Americans because
we started to see ourselves as a community of many cultures, many
races and many orientations. It was the beginning of acceptance in
this country. But that is a process that is far from over.
In modern times, the attacks on the
World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 had a drastic effect on the
minds and hearts of America and indeed on the world. We are still
learning how that effect will finally show itself as the ripples of
shock, fear, anxiety and reprisals are still going on. But to be
sure, as with Pearl Harbor, the effects on our feelings about our
place in the world and our vulnerability were certainly be changed
forever.

Improving your Emotional Health

Focus on your mental and emotional side to gain self improvement
Not everyone believes this but the emotional and mental aspects of a person, when combined, leads to better self improvement.
Emotions love to dominate our actions and reactions, even though we do not want it to happen sometimes. The society often see emotions as a sign of weakness, so people are used to putting them aside and focusing on the rational aspects more and more.
No matter how strict and logical you may be, you will always feel. One way or another, someone or something will get through you.
Positive emotions are a lifelong goal for many of us concerned about emotional health and self improvement. What is more important; the amount of money you made during your life or the times you laughed out of sheer joy?
People tend to put their positive emotions behind their negative feelings. This is one of the biggest problems that people come across during their lives.
There is no clear way to ignore a negative experience and try to replace it with a positive one. Life just does not work that way.
For example, when you were a child, if your goldfish dies, you would be heartbroken. Your parents will probably buy you another goldfish but the sorrow is still there.
Things get even more complex when you become an adult. A fight with your spouse the night before will affect your entire day. You will go to work angry, tired, and your mind will wander. On the way home from work you will not notice the sun shining and you would not be tempted to stop at a roadside stand to pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables.
All this because that one negative thought has contaminated the way you perceive the reality around you.
In this moment you will realize finding a safe place to relax your mind will do wonders for your emotional and mental improvement.
That place is relatively easy to find. It can be an actual place or an imaginary location. The best idea is to totally lose yourself in it.
Let us say you have a problem on your mind and it just would not go away. Go bowling. Do not know how? Just give it a shot.
Get caught up in the game. Your mind will drift away from the negative thoughts that dominated your last hours or days and start processing a whole new kind of information.
A safe haven can take many forms. It can be a song, a movie, even a person or animal. The main thing is allow yourself to get completely involved with this new activity.
You might still get flashes of the problem every now and then. Ignore it and get even more absorbed in what you are doing.
When the bowling game, the song, or the movie ends you will abruptly return to reality. You will probably want to retreat back to the safe place. Do not do it.
The safe place exists only as a helping hand, not as a solution to your life's problems, may it be a small or big. It serves only as an escape route.
You will return from your safe zone with an increased energy level. You will feel better about yourself and gain more confidence. You will see that any issue can be resolved. Improve
This is how a small escape from a harsh reality can increase your emotional and mental health. Try to do this often and you are on your way to better self improvement.
